Greene man gets 25 years
NORWICH — A Greene man who was called a “serial rapist” by a prosecutor was sentenced to 25 years in state prison on Thursday for terrorizing a woman outside her home.
Andrew Mosher, 44, formerly of 1876B county Road 32, had pleaded guilty to a charge of second-degree kidnapping for the May 24, 2005 incident in the Town of Smithville.
Mosher admitted to a knife-point daytime attack on the woman in the driveway of her home. “He threatened to kill the victim in this case if she did not succumb to his sexual demands,” District Attorney Joseph A. McBride said in May. McBride detailed the events of the crime to Judge Michael Daley during a May 8 court appearance when Mosher entered the kidnapping plea.
