NBT to celebrate 150th anniversary in July

NORWICH - NBT Bank will be holding a public celebration in Norwich to celebrate the bank’s 150th anniversary in July.
On Saturday, July 15, at 7 p.m., NBT Bank will be hosting a parade running from South Broad Street, near the bank’s headquarters, to East Main Street. The parade will feature floats, bands, dancers, color guards, bicycles, motorcycles, antique cars, fire trucks, police vehicles and more. Organizations and individuals from the community are also encouraged to participate in the parade. Entry forms for the parade will be available in The Evening Sun and the Norwich-Sidney Pennysaver. Beginning at dusk that Saturday, the bank will sponsor a fireworks display at the Chenango County Fairgrounds on East Main Street.
NBT Bank opened for business as the Bank of Norwich on July 15, 1856, in a small storefront on South Broad Street, about a block north of its current headquarters. “NBT Bank is proud to celebrate this milestone anniversary,” said Martin Dietrich, president and chief executive officer of NBT Bank. “We look forward to sharing this occasion with the community that has been so good to us over the years.”
