The Roches play the Earlville Opera House this weekend
EARLVILLE – Decidedly honest lyrics coupled with a bent sense of humor will snap you to attention, while exquisite harmonies take your breath away when The Roches hit the EOH stage! This legendary folk trio of sisters Maggie, Terre and Suzzy Roche perform at the Earlville Opera House on Saturday at 8 p.m.
Blending influences from the contemporary folk scene to traditional Irish and church choir music, they have created their own innate style and odd take on life. The San Francisco Chronicle described their approach: “Contemporary court jesters, The Roches make you think, but not at the expense of a hearty belly laugh.”
Their performing career has garnered accolades starting with their first self-titled album, “The Roches,” which was hailed as the Best Record of The Year by The New York Times. Their children’s recording “Will You Be My Friend” was awarded The Parent’s Gold Choice Award. “We Three Kings,” a collection of Christmas and Holiday songs is a perennial favorite in households all across the United States and overseas as well. Combined, they have fifteen distinct recordings to their credit as solos, duos and as the famous trio.
