Norwich names teacher, employee of the year
Norwich City Schools honored its Employee of the Year and Teacher of the Year in a ceremony this morning before tomorrow’s first day of school. Employee of the Year William Schraft has been with the district nearly 20 years. Working in the middle school’s maintenance department, Schraft is described as someone who “takes great pride in his work. Some would even refer to him as meticulous.” Teacher of the Year Kisten Giglio was honored for her many accomplishments, including organizing an opportunity for her students to meet with Gov. Pataki, leading a drive to send supplies to Hurricane Katrina victims, and coaching Odyssey of the Mind. Pictured at this morning’s ceremony are Superintendent Gerard O’Sullivan; Buildings & Grounds Superintendent Ed Spencer; Schraft; Giglio; Middle School Principal Lisa Schuchman and Gibson Principal Dara Lewis.
