SHERBURNE – Greene remained unbeaten on the season, and Lizzy Buhl shattered her own school record in the 200 freestyle Tuesday at Sherburne-Earlville.
Buhl, who hasn’t swam the 200 free since the middle of last year, dropped five seconds off her own low time finishing in 2:09.55. The Trojans wound up with nine wins in 11 events with Allison Norton, Kayla Sevey, Paige Vermaat, and Helen Zaengle finding the winners’ circle.
Samantha Martin grabbed two wins for S-E in the loss. “I think it would have been easy to look past S-E or any other team tonight with Delhi coming up on Friday,” said Greene coach Mike Platta. “But our goal this year is to focus on one meet at a time, one race at a time. There is no unimportant lane or swim for us, and every point counts. We are consistently getting competitive swims regardless of who is swimming.”
