“Changing Seasons” opens at the EOH Gallery

EARLVILLE – The Earlville Opera House Art Gallery welcomes back artist Jim Ridlon, wo will exhibit his collection “Changing Seasons” from Sept. 30 through Nov. 11 in the East Gallery at the Earlville Opera House. The public is invited to attend a reception for the artist, Jim Ridlon, on Saturday from 6 to 7:30 p.m.   

“Changing Seasons” examines the way seasonal changes affect nature in a series of paintings.  Ridlon is particularly interesting in depicting the play of light and shadow within an ever-changing spectrum of color.  Ridlon attempts to capture the peak performance of each season and how such an image relates to the mood of the landscape.

 James Ridlon is an acclaimed athlete/artist.  He played in the NFL for eight years, including being named All-Pro as a defensive back with the Dallas Cowboys in 1964.  Since playing football, he has become an educator and accomplished artist, completing his graduate studies at Syracuse University, where he is now a full professor in the College of Visual and Performing Arts.  Ridlon is also the WSYR Radio 570 Network Broadcaster for Syracuse University football games, the Artistic Director for the NYS Summer School of the Arts/Visual Arts and a Board of Trustees member for The United States Sports Academy.
