Oxford plans benefit quilt show
OXFORD – The Thursday Night Quilters will be having a Quilt Show and Raffle on Saturday. It will be held in the Fellowship Hall at the Fort Hill building of the United Church of Oxford, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The cost of the show is $3 (at the door) and includes dessert and a beverage. (A soup and sandwich lunch will also be available.)
The Quilt Show will be an exhibit of a variety of quilts made by different fiber artists, some, members of the Thursday Night Quilters. The members are Linda Meek, Joyce Tefft, Blanche Tefft, Sharon McGowan, Marian Ireland, Nancy Ryan, and Sharlene Lints. Others are invited to display their quilts. Quilts do not have to have been made by their owners. They can vary in size; be old or new; however, a good story behind a quilt can make it unique and interesting. It’s that historic or sentimental quality that the show’s organizers would welcome as an asset to the event.
