SHERBURNE – Sherburne-Earlville stands alone as the last remaining undefeated boys’ basketball team in Chenango County winning its fifth straight game Wednesday night.

The Marauders scored the final seven points of the first half, and when the Indians had the contest to within seven points in the third, went on a 14-2 salvo to create a large bulge. “We can be a streaky team on offense,” said S-E coach Kevin Vibbard. “We still had too many silly turnovers that we’ll need to clean up for Friday’s game (against Cooperstown).”

Wilson Rose cleaned up, indeed, on the inside scoring 19 points – most on layups in the low post – Gabe Fowler netted 16, and Jon Pinney added 12 in the victory.

The Marauders face fellow league unbeaten Cooperstown tomorrow night, then host Westhill Saturday for the S-E Tip-Off Tournament title.
