Ski Club, YMCA team for weekly ski bus trips
NORWICH – Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned skier, taking advantage of the deals available through a local ski club may be the way to go.
The Norwich Family YMCA and Peaks and Trails Ski Club have joined forces to co-sponsor bus transportation for upcoming weekly ski trips to Labrador Mountain Ski Resort in Truxton. Beginning Jan. 6, buses will depart every Saturday for six weeks.
“Since we are an open ski club, residents of any community in the area can take advantage of this year’s bus transportation,” said Doreen Rowe, president of Peaks and Trails Ski Club.
Many times students have opportunities, such as this, through school organizations, but this time Rowe says adults and students can receive the discount packages offered only by ski clubs.
Peaks and Trails has been serving communities throughout Chenenago County for more than 30 years, but this is the first time the group has sponsored bus transportation weekly.
For more information or to register, go to the Norwich YMCA or call Rowe at 334-4761. Additional discounts are available to current Norwich YMCA members. People taking advantage of the bus transportation are invited to an annual pizza party at Labrador Mountain Feb. 10 in celebration of the 2007 season package.
