SPCA benefits from girl's birthday wish
OXFORD – The expression, “It is better to give than to receive” was fully realized when Morrigan “Lolly” Begeal made a great big wish on her sixth birthday. Instead of asking for something for herself, she wanted to help the dogs and cats at the Chenango County SPCA (CCSPCA). With the help of her friends, her wish – all 500 pounds – came true.
Lolly, the daughter of Kim and Scott Begeal of Oxford, is a student of Mrs. Fagnani’s kindergarten in the Oxford Academy Primary School. Celebrating her sixth birthday this month, Lolly asked anyone coming to her party to donate something for all the dogs and cats at the SPCA. Surprisingly, she collected about 500 pounds of dog and cat food and kitty litter from her party guests, and everyone felt good about it.
