Celebrating Chenango entrepreneurism

NORWICH – The Chenango County Board of Supervisors passed a resolution at their February board meeting declaring the week of Feb. 25- March 2 Entrepreneurship Week in Chenango County. With this resolution, Chenango joins over 1,000 communities in the United States now participating in the Entrepreneurship Week USA event.  The national event is presented by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and by government, not-for-profit organizations and businesses, including The New York Times and Inc. magazine. Locally, Brower Communications has joined the national event as a partner and will be presenting the 2007 Entrepreneur Forum on March 1 at The Eaton Center in Norwich.

The event designed to inspire, educate and support entrepreneurs and small business begins at 5:00 pm and will feature a series of workshops on topics of marketing, financial strategies, funding and loan preparation, small business resource information, and business development.  Martha Brower, event coordinator, commented about the resolution, “I thank the board members and community leaders for their vision and support of entrepreneurship in the county. In rural communities, technology brings an opportunity for anyone to succeed in business.  When we come together to support small business development, we all grow together financially and also as a community with strong leaders.”
