Norwich alum plays for Monday Evening Musical Club
NORWICH – The Monday Evening Musical Club presents Carol Bennett Redenbaugh, pianist in a recital titled “At the Fireside with Edward McDowell” at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the United Church of Christ, 11 West Main Street, Norwich.
A native of Norwich, Redenbaugh graduated from Norwich High School in 1965. She may be remembered as Carol Bennett, daughter of Henry R. Bennett of Norwich. For 13 years she studied piano with the late Margaret Hall and was the accompanist for the Norwich High School Choir in performances of Show Boat and South Pacific. She was the recipient of the Monday Evening Club Scholarship for study at the Ithaca College School of Music where she studied piano with Phyllis Pulaski, earning a Bachelor of Music degree in music education in 1969. In addition she studied at Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, Pa. with Dr. John Couch and Temple University with Dr. Harvey Wedeen while working on her master’s degree in music education.
