The Historical Society has planned a series of afternoon workshops to help children learn about history while participating in old-time crafts. On Tuesday, the children will enjoy activities in the theme of “Old Fashioned Fun.” A variety of events are planned for the day, which will begin with a look at toys in the museum’s collection and activities that will teach the children about old time leisure activities. Participants will have the chance to make their own marbles from air-dry clay, learn games to play with them, sew a bag for the marbles and decorate it with stencils. The children will also be given the opportunity to make dolls or action figures from scrap materials. A marble collector will be on hand to show the children some special marbles from his collection.
