UV names new superintendent

NEW BERLIN – The Unadilla Valley Board of Education appointed Robert Mackey as Unadilla Valley’s newest superintendent at their meeting Wednesday. Mackey is the current superintendent of Downsville, where he was the principal for five years and has currently been the superintendent for another five. The position pays $135,000 annually and consists of a three-year contract between Mackey and the district.

Mackey will be taking over the position as of July 1, replacing interim superintendent Rex Hurlburt. Mackey and his family are looking to move to the area.
