NORTH PITCHER – Buying a gift is not always an easy task. Keeping this in mind, one local entrepreneur is trying to ease the burden with a creative and unique service.

PRESENT’ations, owned and operated by Susan Wood, opened for business this week in North Pitcher. Wood says she has fostered a dream of owning her own business in gift-giving or retail for many years, and now she is stocked and ready to start receiving orders.

In January, Wood began her journey by creating a business plan and taking business courses. She said she is starting small, with a home-based business and says once her business is up and running, she will decide what to do next.

Wood uses her creative assets to add the personal touch to her hand-designed gift baskets. She offers 10 different varieties of baskets to meet the needs of many types of personalites, including a garden basket, complete with seeds, potting kits, a garden booklet and more; a baking basket, with the baker’s needs at heart; and even an outdoorsman basket, for the hunter, fisherman or simple outdoorsman. Prices range from $25 and up.
