Commerce Chenango honors award recipients
NORWICH – Commerce Chenango honored its 2007 award recipients at the 6th Annual Report to the Membership Luncheon Thursday at Howard Johnson’s in Norwich.
Brenda Westcott, Steel Sales, is the recipient of The Woman/Minority-Owned Business of the Year award. This award was presented to Westcott for her commitment and faith in doing business in Chenango County and her perseverance to succeed in a very unique industry.
The Agriculture Advocate of the Year recipient is Rebecca Hargrave, Cornell Cooperative Extension. Hargrave has been a substantial contributor in her stand to increase the awareness of the issues facing the agriculture industry. This award is in recognition of her outstanding leadership and advocacy for the future of agriculture in Chenango County.
The 2007 recipient for the Not-for-Profit Organization is the Chenango County Council of the Arts. They are being rewarded in recognition of their increased capacity to expand our cultural diversity. Their efforts have directly enhanced the quality of living in Chenango County and have touched many lives with the programs that they offer on a daily basis.
The Volunteer of the Year award was presented to Kerri Insinga, WCDO Radio. Insinga approaches everything with enthusiasm and dedication. She has served in a variety of capacities for both the Chamber and the community. This award is reserved for a person who devotes their time and leadership to advance the mission and strategy of Commerce Chenango and supports the community through their service and positive attitude.
