Tom Rasely releases new CD

NORWICH – Whether it’s inspiration or repose, local musician Tom Rasely says “Acoustic Intersection,” his newest duet album with longtime friend and fellow guitarist Scott Adams, will help people discover the state of mind they seek to find.

“There is so much hectic music out there,” said Rasely, who resides in McDonough and also teaches guitar across the county. “We wanted to produce music that had a calming effect.”

“Acoustic Intersection” is now available exclusively at Seasons Gift Shop, located on South Broad Street in downtown Norwich next to the Colonia Theater.

The 14-track release is completely instrumental, and offers renditions of classics like “Here Comes the Sun,” “Sounds of Silence,” “Blowin’ in the Wind,” and “Streets of Laredo.” Aside from “Intersection,” the only original recording on the album, Rasely said the duo took special care in selecting the list of contemporary, folk and traditional American songs they covered – hoping listeners would find a clear connection with the music.

“That theme rides through all our albums,” he said. “We picked 13 songs that will be familiar or that people would know.”

People familiar with Rasely’s and Adams’ previous collaborations on Christmas and folk inspired works will be pleased with the pair’s newest accomplishment, Rasely said. It’s their first duet in over nine years.
