Local philanthropist creates, markets new condiment
NORWICH – Norwich businesswoman Patsy Smith continues to make headlines with the condiments she has created for her own brand, SchoolHouse Kitchen. This time it’s a new salad dressing, Balsamic Vinaigrette Basico.
The dressing, along with Smith’s other homemade products, Bardshar Chutney and SweetHotSmooth Mustard, are available locally at Gallery 3-2-1 in Oxford and The Parson’s Daughter in Norwich. They are also available in major cities at one of the nation’s most exclusive culinary retailers, Dean & Deluca.
Smith, who donates l00 percent of SchoolHouse Kitchen’s profits to educational organizations, perfected her recipes within her own kitchen in Norwich. Nelson Farms of Cazenovia processes and packages SchoolHouse Kitchen’s products in a cooperative effort with SUNY Morrisville.
