“Brave” musicians playing downtown tonight

NORWICH – A “brave” group of musicians are making their way Thursday to the Chenango Blues Association’s free summer concert stage.

“Brave Combo,” a Texas-based band, take chances and change minds mixing Polka music with a wide range of styles, creating a sound the Santa Cruz Sentinel calls “irreverent” and “entertaining.”

“Using polka music as their jumping board, the Brave Combo live up to their name by crossing polka with jazz, rock, blues and more,” a Sentinel review said. “They’ve won two Grammy Awards since their inception in Denton, Texas in 1979, as well as played nearly every major music festival around the nation.”
