Sherburne Wheeler President and delegate for Region 7 of New York State Off-highway Recreational Vehicle Association Inc. Throughout the hour-long meeting topics covered included expanding a trail system for all terrain vehicle riders into Norwich and Edmeston. The Sherburne Wheeler club currently rides a circular loop system trail and hoped to present its expansion of it to local and state officials.

Expanding the system would mean more ATV owners would want to register their vehicles here and take advantage of a trail system. “In turn these riders would be spending their money locally and would help to promote lodging, dining and other small businesses in the county,” the group said.

Ski explained it took roughly 30 years for snowmobilers to get the public involved. “ATV enthusiasts have only been doing this for the past three or so years, so we are just beginning this venture,” he said. “We know it will take time.”
