Colorscape a treat for the palate

You won’t be hungry at the 13th Annual Colorscape Arts Festival on Saturday and Sunday in Norwich.  Just visit the Culinary Court for a diverse menu of creative food vending sure to please anyone’s palate.
Are you a vegetarian or maybe you just appreciate vegetarian dishes?  Check out “Vegetarian Oasis.”  The “Vegetarian Oasis” features Thai coconut curry with brown rice, bamboo, baby corn, kale, cauliflower and carrots, and Tofu or Sertain wraps with lots of veggies and Tahini and hot sauce, and wash it all down with a hibiscus cooler.
Still haven’t satisfied your vegetarian hunger?  Visit “Traveler’s Kitchen” and their menu of natural vegetarian food: potato pancakes, spinach-feta quesadillas, portabella-lime wrap, tempeh reuben, and wash it all down with iced chai, a rich brew of black tea, spices and milk served over ice.
Maybe you think you want something a little heartier.  Try White’s BBQ pulled pork sandwich or their Southwestern shrimp and chicken wrap or their cheese tortellini and artichoke with feta cheese salad.  Or maybe you’re in the mood for a Greek Pita Gyro with lamb or beef, cucumber, lettuce and tomato.  Check out the Chenango Memorial booth.  Looking for something a little lighter?  Visit the “Junior Girl Scout Troop #502 Indian Hill Council” booth for a taco salad, vegetarian salad, or garden salad.
Or, how’s this for something different?  Visit Chataka Foods booth for kachori, fresh crushed green peas, lentils seasoned with spices and wrapped in a wheat flour pastry and served with three chutneys and garnished with chickpeas noodles.  Or try the Thali, a sumptuous combination platter featuring spicy chickpeas, vegetable curried potatoes, Basmati rice with cumin, vegetable rolls/fritters and bread (chapatti).
Looking for a snack between meals?  “Poparazzi Kettlecorn” is returning this year with their famed kettlekorn or try their hot pretzels, hot dog or chili.  “New York Almond Company” is also returning.  You’ll go nuts over their cinnamon roasted almonds, cashews and pecans!  You can’t order just one!  Need to cool off?  Visit a “Taste of Aloha” for up to 12 different flavors of shaved ice cones.
All the food vendors are automatically entered into a competition judged this year by Dan and Danielle Williamson of Hoppies in Oxford.  The “People’s Choice” and “Best Taste of Colorscape” awards are sponsored this year by Hoppies and The Parson’s Daughter in Norwich.
