Suspect released from jail following an apparent collapse in local drug case

NORWICH – Another setback in the recent drug investigation in the Norwich area has been announced, as the final suspect arrested in connection with the case has been released.

Adam Maricle, 27, of 6 Natoli Ave., Norwich, was being held on $100,000 bail at the Chenango County Correctional facility for a felony drug charge, but following a closed door meeting, the District Attorney’s Office consented to his immediate release. The $100,000 bail was not paid, and Maricle was released on his own recognizance pending his next court or grand jury appearance.

Maricle is still charged with the third degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a Class B felony. Allegedly, he was selling cocaine out of his home in March.
