Greene retains MAC title
DELHI – Delhi provided more of a test than maybe Greene expected, but the Trojans used superior depth and won seven of 12 events to repeat as Midstate Athletic Conference champions.
Helen Zaengle had four overall wins for Greene taking the 200 individual medley and 500 freestyle, while also swimmng on a pair of winning relays. Sam Clink, Lizzy Buhl, and Katie Crowe also had individual wins, and Zaengle and Clink went one-two in the 500-yard freestyle to extend Greene’s lead over the Bulldogs.
Team Scores: Greene 365, Delhi 347, Afton/Bainbridge-Guilford/Oxford 176, Cooperstown 161, Sherburne-Earlville 118.

SHERBURNE – The Marauders finished their season with 13 minutes left on the clock and in a tie game with Canastota Friday afternoon.
Ken Knickerbocker and Ethan Sconzo had goas for the Marauders, who led 2-1 at halftime. Play was halted two-thirds through the second half due to bad weather and poor field conditions, said S-E coach Mike Rodriguez. The Marauders finished the season 4-12-2 overall.

S-E runs at Center State Conference meet
ORISKANY – Sloppy conditions slowed the field’s pace as Sherburne-Earlville’s boys wound up 15th overall at the Center State Conference cross country championships at Oriskany Saturday.
Noah Huff led the Marauders placed 51st out 113 runners in 21:45. “The muddy, rainy conditions reflected the times,” said S-E coach Anne Geary. “We gave it our best effort today and given the conditions, we were happy with our performance.”
This coming Saturday, Sherburne-Earlville will host the Kym Ryan Memorial Scholarship 5K run at 10 a.m., Geary said. Registration is $10 and begins at 8:30 a.m. at the school. Registration forms are available online at www.secsd.org.
