Oxford man now charged with molesting two child victims
OXFORD – An Oxford man who was charged with sexually abusing a six-year-old girl has now been charged with molesting a 13-year-old boy.
Jason E. Heisler, 34, of 223 West State Road, Oxford is accused of subjecting the young girl to sexual contact at his residence in 2006, and the boy in 2003, reported the Sheriff’s Office. In conjunction to the original investigation involving the girl, police also discovered evidence that led them to charging Heisler with molesting the 13-year-old boy.
Heisler was arrested Oct. 23 at around 6:50 p.m. and formally charged with first-degree sexual abuse, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child for allegedly abusing the girl. Heisler’s wife Christina was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child regarding the incident. Jason was then arrested Friday after a briefing with the District Attorney’s Office where it was decided to file additional charges.
He was charged with second degree criminal sexual act, second degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child Friday for allegedly molesting the boy around four years ago.
More charges could be pending and the police investigation is continuing. District Attorney Joseph McBride said that if any additional charges are brought against Heisler, they would be raised by the grand jury at their next convening.
Heisler is in the Chenango County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 bail. He was scheduled to appear in the Town of Oxford Court at 6 p.m. Monday.
