Habitat begins work on Greene project
GREENE – Starting early Saturday morning, Dec. 1, Deacon Chet Schultz and other volunteers from the Berean Bible Church of Greene gathered at the corner of Mill and Monell Streets to clean up debris from the recent Chenango County Habitat for Humanity (CCHH) house demolition. The demolition, completed at the end of October, was in preparation of a new house project at this location. Pieces of old splintered lumber, insulation, shingles and the like, from the huge frozen pile of debris were carried mostly by hand, and some by a front end loader, to a dumpster provided by Don Snow Trucking. The group of approximately 40 volunteers were provided with lunch by the Greene Area Churches Open Door Kitchen.
