Golden Artist Colors selected for state award for hiring individuals with disabilities

COLUMBUS – On Dec. 11, Golden Artist Colorsreceived a New York State award for its commitment to hiring and accommodating employees with disabilities. The award was presented on behalf of the Southern Tier VESID office by Dot Marinaccio, Regional Marketing Coordinator. Assemblyman Clifford Crouch also attended the award ceremony and provided a Certificate of Merit to Golden Artist Colors. The ceremony was held in conjunction with a Chenango Job Service Employer Committee training on “Psychiatric Disabilities in the Workplace: Legal, Practical, and Human Issues,” presented by Dr. Hannah Rudstam from Cornell University.

The Southern Tier Office of Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities (VESID), presents awards each year in honor of National Disability Employment Awareness Month. Golden Artist Colors was selected by a statewide review committee for recognition at the NYS level in the category of businesses with 100 – 499 employees. Golden Artist Colors was nominated by The ARC of Otsego. Bobbi Lyn Palmer and James Sweeney, Job Developers with ARC, also attended the event.
