Bainbridge gallery hosts art teacher exhibit tonight
BAINBRIDGE – The Jericho Arts Council is pleased to welcome two art teachers to the Bainbridge Town Hall Gallery tonight. Tresta Wightman, art teacher in the Unadilla Valley School District, and Taryn Hubbard, art teacher in Whitney Point, will be exhibiting paintings and monoprints.
Wightman, who is in her sixth year at Unadilla Valley, previously taught at Hancock. In addition to teaching art to grades 9 through 12, she teaches elementary art enrichment classes, is yearbook advisor, photo coordinator, art department chair, softball coach, junior class advisor, and safety committee building rep. She earned her bachelor of fine art degree from Alfred University, and her master’s in education from the University of New England. She currently lives in Norwich.
Hubbard is the K-3 art teacher in Whitney Point. This is her 12 year in that position. She is also the technology integrator for her building. Hubbard resides in Oxford with her husband and son. She earned her bachelor’s degree at Nazareth College in Rochester and her master’s in supervision and administration in the visual arts from Bankstreet College of Education in NYC.
