Otselic Valley 73, Stockbridge Valley 41
SOUTH OTSELIC – Otselic Valley, who had one of its tougher tests earlier this season against the Indians, had no such trouble Friday night.
David Cerasani scored a game-high 22 points, and Taylor Duell played an all-around floor game scoring 10 points, pulling down 13 rebounds, and pocketing seven steals. Brad Wentworth came off the bench to score 13 points. “They were a little shorthanded tonight, otherwise it probably would have been a closer game,” said OV coach Dave Loomis.

Windsor 64, Norwich 62
WINDSOR – Brenton Jones made a hard drive to the baseline, and hit about an 10-foot floater with eight seconds remaining to give Windsor a two-point home victory Friday night.
Norwich made up five points in the final minute to knot the game. Tim Clark hit a three-pointer at the 57-second mark cutting the deficit to 62-60, and following a defensive stop, Clark hit two free throws with 15 seconds remaining. Norwich’s last-second shot attempt to tie the game was off the mark.
“We had good balance and a great effort,” said Norwich coach Mark Abbott. “Windsor is a tough place to play and they came in with just one loss. We played them almost even right to the buzzer.”
Charles Sopata and Joe DiNardo did all of the scoring in the fourth quarter until Jones’ basket scoring nine points apiece. Sopata led with 19 points, and DiNardo’s three ball put Windsor up five points.
Norwich took a seven-point halftime lead getting 10 points from Nate Foote and eight from David Carson. Sophomore Josh Borfitz fueled the Tornado offense in the second half hitting four of his five three balls. Foote led Norwich with 16 points and Borfitz had 15.
“The problem with the fourth quarter is that it was our one bad shooting quarter,” Abbott said. “We went cold and they didn’t. Our players fought hard, and I wasn’t sure how we would respond after the Seton game. We played an outstanding game, but were just beaten at the end by a good team.”

UV (9-3) went 10-for-11 from the charity stripe in the last quarter, while the Warriors missed six free throw attempts. During the last eight minutes, a one-point UV advantage was stretched out on the strength of its defense. “We kept switching our zone presses, and it kind of confused them,” said Storm coach Matt Osborne.

Greene 48, Unatego 44
GREENE – Coming off its worst offensive game of the season, it only got worse in the first half for Greene Saturday night.
Emerging from a six-quarter slump, the Trojans rallied past the Spartans. “Our morale was definitely down early in the game,” said Greene coach Jeff Paske.
The Trojans fell behind 12-3 in the first quarter, and had just 12 points on the board by halftime. “At halftime, we talked about needing to get the ball inside,” Paske said. “We were able to get the ball to Dustin Turner and Chris Engler.”
Turner and Engler had 12 and nine points in the second half, and Turner converted a three-point play off a pass from Dan Carlin to break a 39-39 tie with 1:50 to play. After a defensive stop, Carlin fed Mark Day for a layup and five-point advantage. “To come back and win this game, especially after the way we played against Unadilla Valley earlier in the week, was great for this team,” Paske said.
Turner had 14 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocked shots. Engler had 11 points, Carlin five assists, and Ben Adams pulled down 10 boards.
