Smyrna Fire Dept. receives AED donation

On Feb. 14, the Smyrna Fire and Emergency rescue dedicates its new AED (automatic external defibrillator) in memory of Aubrey Fuller, a long-time dedicated member of the department. Money donated in his memory helped purchase this much needed equipment. This week of Valentine’s Day was the perfect time to put a heart machine in service, in hopes of saving lives. A certificate was given to the Fuller family and an engraved plate will be placed on the AED in his memory. AEDs are used in a pre-hospital setting to analyze cardiac rhythm and determine if the rhythm is shockable, which could mean life or death.
