SMITHVILLE – Sheriff’s deputies broke up an underage drinking party in the Town of Smithville over the weekend, arresting 18 youths and charging one with a misdemeanor.
A 17-year-old Smithville youth has been charged with second degree criminal nuisance, a misdemeanor, for allegedly providing alcohol at his residence to 17 other underaged kids.
The other local teens were charged with unlawful possession of and consumption of alcoholic beverages, a violation. They were all issued appearance tickets and will appear in court March 25 at the Smithville Town Court.
