BINGHAMTON – Norwich won its second road game in as many days, and pitcher Tim Clark combined with Josh Borfitz on the Tornado’s first shutout win in six seasons.

Clark pitched five innings and allowed three hits, and Borfitz finished up with one-hit relief. Seton’s best scoring opportunity came in the fifth when it loaded the bases with one out. Clark induced a double play in which he fielded a comebacker, fired home to Patrick Coates, who then threw to first to end the inning.

“The guys are really excited to get on the bus and play tomorrow against Whitney Point,” said Norwich coach John Martinson, whose club moved to 6-5 overall.

Borfitz went 3-for-4 with a two-run double in the third, Mackay Hotaling also had a 3-for-4 day. Tyler Saroka finished with two hits and two ribbies, and Mike Moon clipped the Saints for a pair of base knocks. Norwich finished with 13 hits and seven of the nine starters were credited with basehits. “Our guys seemed more patient and were waiting for their pitches,” Martinson said. “They’re stepping to the plate with a lot of confidence.”
