Woman sentenced for carrying drugs in car
NORWICH – Stephanie Manwarren, Norwich, pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a class D felony Friday.
She received five years of probation and was ordered to pay fees including a $250 surcharge, $20 for crime assistance, and $50 for a DNA sample. Manwarren’s driving permit was also suspended, and she was assigned to complete drug treatment court.
Following sentencing, Supreme Court Justice Kevin M. Dowd made it clear that if Manwarren commits any kind of felony within the next 10 years, she would face jail time.
The woman and her husband, Shane Manwarren, were indicted on felony drug-related charges last December following an incident where the couple was pulled over and found to be in possession of more than $6,400 worth of drugs.
