Norwich classic car collector announces June auction

NORWICH – Norwich resident and businessman Ray Hart announced this week he’s selling his expansive collection of classic cars and military vehicles at auction in June.

Evans Auction Service will conduct the sale at 10 a.m. on June 14 at the Chenango County Fairgrounds located on East Main Street in Norwich. There are 46 vehicles in the collection, including 20 antiques and 10 military.

“This impressive collection features pre-war vehicles through the 1980s,” said auctioneer Bill Evans, “Including Model A’s, a ‘14 Model T, a ‘29 Peerless, a ‘49 Plymouth Woody, other Chevys, Chryslers, Plymouths, a DeSoto, a Packard, a Pontiac, a metropolitan and a rare 1982 Checker Taxi – their last year of production.”

“We are excited about the opportunity to help Ray fine new homes for this great collection,” Evans added. “It’s going to be quite an event for the community.”

Prior to the auction, there will be an open house at the fairgrounds from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 12 and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, June 13.
