“Gas Leasing 101” meeting Tuesday

GREENE – Rural land owners are invited to a meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17 at Baron’s Inn, 1244 State Hwy. 12 Greene.  The program will be sponsored by Chenango County Farm Bureau & The Greater Greene Chamber of Commerce.
This is an opportunity to learn about natural gas exploration and leasing. This meeting will provide clear, current, and useful information about the gas development process, particularly in NY’s Central and Southern Tier regions. It will clarify a number of aspects about gas leasing, including exactly what is being leased, the benefits and drawbacks of leasing, the nature of exploration and variability in lease values, gas storage, payment expectations, protection of farmland and natural resources, and the role of legal counsel.
For more information, contact Bradd Vickers, president of the Chenango County Farm Bureau at 334-6061 or the Greater Greene Chamber of Commerce at 656-8225.
