NORWICH – After a successful opening night in Oxford, the NBT Bank Summer Concert Series is coming back to downtown Norwich Thursday with old-timing rock and rollers Big Sandy and His Fly-Rite Boys.

Starting at 7 p.m., Big Sandy, “who have emerged as one of the world’s most respected practitioners of American roots music, western swing, rockabilly and traditional country,” according to a press release, will play the West Side Park.

The show is the second of five free concerts – organized by the Chenango Blues Association – leading up to the 16th Annual Chenango Blues Festival, to be held August 15-16. It’s the first of three straight Thursday gigs scheduled in the West Side Park.
