The all-day free festival begins at 1 p.m. with live music on the Village Green until 7:30 p.m. In previous years, the Music Mix has attracted over 2,000 visitors to the Village Green in the heart of the Hamilton Village. Although many of the festival’s attendees are from Central New York, the diversity and cultural aspects of the festival attracts many visitors from nearby counties and states. As such, the Music Mix has become a family event and through the musicians and their music, it has enabled the community to broaden its horizons and allow for everyone to gain a significant appreciation for the diversity and depth of music around the world. This year is no exception with an outstanding line-up of bands, including Osubi I. Craig and the Prophecy Music Project as the international band to kick-off the day, playing a mix of jazz, modern dance and traditional African dance music. Red Molly is an all-female trio performing a combination of folk, country and Americana & roots, all blended perfectly with stunning three-part harmonies. Uncle Bruce is known for performing a unique blend of danceable blues and classic rock music in a diverse collection of all-time favorites and hand-picked contemporary hits. Our final band is the national headliner, Root Doctor, out of Lansing, Michigan, performing a mix of classic soul, R & B, and traditional blues music.
