NORWICH – A Town of Norwich property that was the cause of raw sewage runoff in the neighborhood over the past few years could have a new owner by the end of August.

The City View Trailer Park property, owned by Steven and Karen Key of Eaton, supported eight residential mobile homes up until six months ago when six of the structures were dismantled. All were in ruins with garbage, debris and rodent infestations, raising concerns for neighbors. Tenants had been evicted in 2005.

The taxes on the Crandall Street property are currently in arrears by nearly $16,000.

The parcel made its way to the county’s tax sale last week. The Chenango County Real Property Tax Services (RPTS) offices estimates it will be another month before the new owners would be announced. The Keys had until April 30 to pay the back taxes. Current 2007-08 taxes total an additional amount of about $3,000.
