Awards and an encore performance in the park for “Shakespeare (abridged)”
SHERBURNE – Members of the Sherburne Music-Theater Society, who just performed “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)” at The Palace in Hamilton this past weekend, has been notified by TANYS (Theater Association of New York State) that they will be receiving two awards for their production. The three cast members, Adrian Enscoe, Joe Mettler and Tyler Rundell, have been recognized for Excellence in Ensemble Acting, while director Colleen Law-Tefft will receive an Excellence in Direction award. The TANYS Adjudicator, Ruth Legg from Geneva, said, “Three talented young actors take the audience on an energy-filled romp through all of William Shakespeare’s plays in The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged). The Sherburne Music Theater Society’s production is an evening of laugh-out-loud fun.”
“The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)” is a whirlwind roller coaster tribute to the immortal bard. Three actors (Adrian Enscoe, Joe Mettler and Tyler Rundell) take on the daunting task of performing 37 plays and 154 sonnets in under two hours, illuminating the world of Shakespeare through the use of football, swordplay and rap music. Irreverent and hilarious, this comedy is a refreshing blend of madcap humor that includes everything from puns and pratfalls to elaborate sight gags.
