RSVP honors volunteers at breakfast

NORWICH – On Saturday, Aug. 2 the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) held its 10th Annual Volunteer Recognition Breakfast at Studebaker’s Restaurant.

These 374 senior volunteers, from all corners of the county, served almost 56,000 hours in 50 non-profit agencies in the past year. If the RSVP volunteers were replaced by paid employees, it would cost the agencies and organizations $1,043,000 over the past year alone.

Fifteen volunteers celebrated ten years of membership with RSVP. Pictured are (front row) Jeanne Walsh, George Wolfangle, Eva Downey, David Law; and (back row) Frank Hoffman, Charles Hathaway, Roberta Knoll, Gladys Benjamin, Carl Beebe and Pat Hathaway. Others not available for the photograph were Homer Burch, June Burrs, Fred McGarity, Jane Sheldon, and Verda Wehner.
