New library to receive town funding

McDONOUGH – The McDonough Library will receive limited funding from the Town of McDonough thanks to a decision at the town board meeting on Monday.

According to McDonough Town Supervisor Arrington Canor, the library will receive between $500 and $600 this year. This is the amount currently left in the budget for the Four County Library System’s Cybermobile.

Canor felt it was important for the town to show support for the newly-opened library and community center. “The library project was a great community effort,” said Canor.

The town also offered indirect support to the library and community center with a decision to pay for the McDonough Clean Up Day. The McDonough Improvement Committee (MIC), which runs the facility, traditionally sponsors and oversees the clean up project. They usually pick up half the tab for the project as well.
