Democrats open county headquarters Wednesday

CHENANGO COUNTY – The Chenango County Democratic Committee will kick off the 2008 campaign season with the grand opening Wednesday of its local headquarters.

At 7 p.m. on Oct. 8, county Democrats will host a grand opening event at their 12 South Broad St. location, next to Ives Cream in downtown Norwich. Democratic candidates running to represent Chenango County will be in attendance. Town of Caroline Supervisor Don Barber, a candidate for State Senate in the 51st District, will be attending the event, and depending on the schedule for the congressional session, Congressman Michael Arcuri may also be in attendance. If Arcuri is unable to attend a representative for the Congressman’s campaign will be present.

“I feel we have a couple of strong candidates, who will do an outstanding job for the constituents of our district,” Democratic Committee Chair Patrick McNeil said.
