Bush back in court this morning
NORWICH– Lee M. Bush, accused of shooting at two men in the City of Norwich, will appear in Chenango County Court at the request of the District Attorney’s Office this morning.
District Attorney Joseph A. McBride said he wrote a letter to the court requesting another bail review in the case because new information had come to his attention that indicated Bush violated the conditions of his release.
The office indicated that it will again attempt to have Bush placed on bail and that it may be calling an eye witness to the stand at this morning’s proceedings.
“Mr. Bush made some casual comments that have apparently been taken out of context by the DA’s Office,” said Defense Attorney Aaron A. Dean.
Both attorneys said they couldn’t elaborate on the specifics of the new allegations being made. “We’ll just have to see what comes out in court,” said Dean.
According to police, Bush, 49, Court Street, shot at two men in his driveway with a 12-gauge shotgun, hitting them with birdshot at about 9:54 p.m., Sept. 5. The men were allegedly fleeing Bush’s Court Street residence in the City of Norwich following an alcohol and drug-fueled argument, said police.
Bush was released without bail on Sept. 16 and less than 24 hours later he was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana by the Norwich Police Officers.
