Historical Society plans 8th Annual Haunted Museum
NORWICH – Most of the time the Chenango County Historical Society’s Museum is “ghost-free” but around Pumpkin Festival they appear in the Museum’s rooms and hallways. This year will be no exception. Period rooms will become home to ghoulish visitors and scary scenes for the Eighth Annual Haunted Museum. Visitors may also catch a glimpse of the one true ghost in the Museum, a small dog that can mysteriously be seen from time to time in one of the paintings.
For younger visitors who don’t want to meet up with any ghosts, there will still be plenty of Halloween fun including Halloween games and prizes, and a “Cat and Rat” hunt. Children may also decorate their own “Trick or Treat” bag to take home, and refreshments will be served.
The “Haunted Museum” will take place at the Museum at 45 Rexford St., Norwich, on Saturday. They’ve changed the time to 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to give everyone a chance to race downtown for the parade. Admission is free, but donations are always appreciated. Organizers also invite people to bring a food donation for our local food bank. For more information call the Museum at 334-9227.
