“Piecing Dreams Together” quilt show debuts in Oxford
OXFORD – The Thursday Night Quilters (TNQ) are hosting their 4th (biennial) quilt show “Piecing Dreams Together” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the United Church of Oxford. Enjoy a fine exhibit of heirloom and new quilt works, refreshments in good company and relaxing music in the UCO Fellowship Hall.
The Thursday Night Quilters group members are: Linda Meek, Joyce Tefft, Blanche Tefft, Sharon McGowan, Marian Ireland, Nancy Ryan, and Sharlene Lints. You may have recently seen their memorable Bicentennial quilt in the Oxford Village parade this past July. They all helped to produce the last quilt exhibit in 2006 which was a big success. Many quilters displayed their stitched creations that spanned decades, covering a variety of traditional and contemporary styles, as well as sharing wonderful stories about the quilt designs.
Lots of enthusiastic viewers of the ’06 show said they had quilts they should have entered. This upcoming show is opportunity knocking! Don’t miss “Piecing Dreams Together” for an educational, inspirational and ‘comforting’ expo. (Remember, you can’t go again until 2010!)
While strolling the Fellowship Hall, enjoy the recorded sounds of music from 6 On The Square, Oxford’s arts and entertainment venue. Everyone admitted to the quilt show will be entered once into a raffle for two free tickets to a future concert there.
Admission is $3 which also includes a dessert and beverage. A soup and sandwich lunch will be available for purchase.
The United Church of Oxford is located on Fort Hill Park.
