OV holds meeting on building project

SOUTH OTSELIC – The Otselic Valley Board of Education will hold a public information meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6 at the elementary school in Georgetown. The meeting will be held to discuss the proposed capital improvement project. The project calls for the construction of an addition to the high school, located in South Otselic, to accommodate a combined kindergarten through twelfth grade campus at that location.

The total cost of the project would be approximately $22,660,000, which includes $19,326,000 for the combined kindergarten through twelfth grade facility, and $3,334,000 for the construction of a new bus maintenance facility. The school plans to use state aid, EXCEL Aid, the district’s capital reserves and the local shared to fund the project. The bus garage is 100 percent aidable and the combined facility is 98 percent aidable.
