MORRIS – An elderly nursing home resident who was recently released from the County Jail following his arrest for public lewdness passed away this weekend.

Leonard C. Bentley, 85, died Sunday morning, Nov. 2, just under two weeks after his release from the Chenango County Correctional Facility Oct. 21, where he had been held for three weeks.

The incident began after Chase Memorial Nursing Home in New Berlin contacted police and filed a complaint against Bentley. He was then remanded on $1,000 bail for the charge of public lewdness.
