SHERBURNE – Ilion scored the final six points of the first half to grab the lead by two, and extended the margin to as many as 15 in the second half in a win over Sherburne-Earlville Tuesday.
Joseph Patrei led the Golden Bombers with 23 points, and Matthew Soullas scored 16 before fouling out in the fourth quarter.
“They hurt us on the boards, and we turned the ball over way too many times in the third quarter,” said S-E coach Kevin Vibbard. “A lot of their points had to do with rebounding, and they shot it well in the second half.”
Caleb Brown led S-E (0-1) with 16 points and Sean Boise added 12. The Marauders host Baldwinsville Friday at 7:30 p.m.

MADISON – Otselic Valley dominated with defense – be it man-to-man or zone – in a rout at Madison Tuesday.
Justin Shapley led three Vikings players in double figures scoring a season-high 18 points – the third different leading scorer in three games for OV. Brad Wentworth added 13 points and David Cerasani 11.
“Our defense was the difference tonight,” said Vikings coach Dave Loomis. “They had trouble against our man-to-man in the first half. We played zone in the second half, which we don’t do very much, but we did fairly well with that as well.”
OV (2-1) hosts Stockbridge Valley on Friday.

COPES CORNERS – Bainbridge-Guilford rebounded from a 20-point loss to Laurens the night before, and did so after trailing 11-2 early in the first half of Tuesday’s game at G-MU.
“B-G has a young, inexperienced team, and we did not close the deal when we had a chance,” said G-MU coach Bill Hartman. “We’re lean, particularly down low, and they killed us on the offensive boards.”
Justin Pepper led B-G (1-1) with 25 points and Steve Patten added 11.
Cody Hall had 22 to lead G-MU, who play at Deposit Friday.
