Norwich 56, Vestal 43

VESTAL – One game into the 2008-2009 season, Norwich has already matched last season’s victory total.

Junior Elisha Eddy poured in 21 points, while sophomore Hannah Runyon added 10, and Michelle Testani along with Adrienne Sharpe split 16 points evenly in Tuesday’s win.

“We had a lot of people contribute offensively, and I really think our depth wore them down,” said Norwich coach Krista Porter.

Leading by four points at halftime, Eddy scored seven in the third period and Testani five to move the lead to 41-27 entering the fourth quarter. Eddy added a team-high 10 rebounds.

“We went to a halfcourt press in the third quarter, and that worked well,” Porter said.

Norwich hosts Oneonta Friday.
