Greene 73, Hancock 46

HANCOCK – Greene, the last Chenango County basketball team to take the floor, was impressive in its debut routing Hancock by 27 points Wednesday.

The Trojans finished with 25 steals in the game, and received 14 points and nine assists from Dan Carlin. Scott Gorton posted a team-best 15 points, Dustin Turner had 12 points and five steals, and Mark McDermott grabbed eight rebounds.

“We really needed a game under our belts,” said Greene coach Jeff Paske. “I think we were sick of going at each other in practice, so it was good to see another color jersey.”

Greene hosts Harpursville Friday at 8:45 p.m. in the first round of its tip-off tournament.
