Fong case reassigned
GREENE – The criminal trial of the Brooklyn man charged with 116 misdemeanors in relation to the seizure of 76 Pomeranians from property he owned in the Town of Oxford has been reassigned to another court.
The case of Steven W. Fong, 56, Brooklyn, will now be heard by Greene Town Justice Dante Acunto, as per a decision last week by New York Supreme Court Justice Kevin M. Dowd.
The case was originally assigned to Judge John Weidman in the Town of Oxford Court, but was reassigned after Weidman asked to be recused on Dec. 8.
Weidman made the request to be recused through his supervising judge, Chenango County Court Judge W. Howard Sullivan, stating that he was doing so “in the interest of justice.”
